Simple Woman's Daybook - LATE

I forgot... to post this!  I wrote it last week, put it on hold for one more photo, and then just found it this evening.  WHOOPS!

Outside my window... cloudy, high of 102.  We actually had a real (more than 2 minutes) rain storm the other day, it was fabulous!

I am thinking... about perspective.  Continue on to the 'thankful' point next.

I am thankful... for relative calm.  We have friends whose son was shot at work a few weeks ago.  Then there is the fellow youth violin player who went from headaches and double vision last Wednesday to surgery for a brain tumour Friday.  And let's not even get into the guy behind us who threatened to blow his house up last Monday, putting our section of the neighbourhood in jeopardy.

In the kitchen... juice, juice, and more juice.

I am creating... a baby gift for a recent delivery.

I am going... to finish off the Julie house on Thursday.  Then a family moves in to rent it for a few months.  While that house is off the market, we're putting the condo on the market.  Yes, musical properties.  I'm really looking forward to owning ONE!  :)

I am wondering... does anyone else get strong whiffs of Socialism 101 in this poster?

I am reading... Reforming Marriage.  Always a nice reminder.

I am hoping... that Lauren is having a nice time.  She's away for 3.5 weeks on a mega trip with her dad.  Prayers appreciated.

I am looking forward to...

I am learning... kindness.  Stop laughing.  I know I stink at this, hence 'learning'!

Around the house... quiet - children finishing up studies for the day.

I am pondering... putting together a general list of what to throw together in the event of an evacuation.  We're not in wild-fire danger zone, or a flood zone, or anything like that.  But after Mr. Yahoo's attempt to blow his house up a week ago, one realizes that you just never really know.

A favorite quote for today...

"I'm not bossy, I've been blessed with an administrative gift."

One of my favourite things... watching the Lord use all things for his glory.  (At the moment, two of our properties.)

A few plans for the rest of the week... toes and a movie tonight, World Tour Wednesday, finish the Julie house Thursday, Friday prep for the weekend.

  1. Wait a minute... what's the JULIE house?!

On the one hand, I get that the poster is trying to make people more aware of the impact they have on others, but still... creeeeepy.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE your quote!

  2. Sorry, it's the Glendale house, more commonly (around here) known as the Julie house because it's on Julie Drive.

    Yeah - creeeepy indeed.

Off to practice my administrative gift! :)
