Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside My Window
Blue skies, sunny, high of 68.  I'm pleased it's cooling off again.  80 degrees for New Year's Day was just. wrong.

I am Thinking
about a sinus headache that's trying to make an appearance.  I know, not super glamorous!

I am Thankful For
the fact that my little princess dog is still home and alive today.  She hasn't been well for a week and we thought she was going to be put down today.  Yeah for aloe vera taken internally and ground turkey broth for dehydrating a dog who refuses to drink!

I am Creating
Hand embroidered wraps for our communion bread.  Oh, and an emergency birthday gift for a new friend who's turning one year old on Saturday.  Any ideas???

I am Reading
See the sidebar.

I am Praying
For miracles in God's perfect timing, and for protection while some international travel (no, it's not us) is taking place.

I am Hearing
Pages turning . . . the fab four are all at the dining table studying.

From the Kitchen
Tostadas, chicken enchilada soup, home made yogurt, trifles, lots of yum going on in there.

Around the House
Just routine stuff, thankfully!

We are Learning
That we really won't die if we eat refried beans out of a can and that in an emergency situation I can get over it.  (Even if it is Mexican blasphemy.)

A Few of My Favorite Things
Having lovely and honest people in the homes we have for rent.

Plans for the Week
World Tour Wednesday, Glaucoma Specialist appointment Thursday morning, Cleaning the Anthem house Thursday and Friday, fellowship meal after church on Sunday.  (Better come up with a main dish!)

On my Mind
Our Anthem house.  The renters moved out and forgot to tell us.  Thankfully, we know where they work so they'll be easy for the court to serve with paperwork.  But still, what pigs . . . and it's so sad that they're such a mess.

A Peek at My Life - Or, my life to come, at least.

  1. Oh no! Is that the Fed Ex employee renter? Maybe that has something to do with the headache... so sorry!

re Birthday gift for one year old. Have you ever seen a Bumble Ball? They used to be sold for kids, but now I can only find them for PETS! (As a DOG toy, but who has to know?) It's a little ball, with soft-ish rubber 'nubbins' on it. It does need batteries, which make it wiggle around unpredictably. Gave one to Gunnar when he turned one and we still laugh ourselves silly watching the video of him trying to get that thing into his mouth.

(I found it here, for ten bucks. But try a pet store near you!)

Maybe not the kind of thing you had in mind? Hilarious, though ;D

  2. YES! That's what makes it so infuriating.
