The Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside My Window
RAIN!
Woke up to a soft rain about an hour and a half ago and continue to enjoy it.
Praying it lasts long into the day.

I am Thinking
I am tired!  Long busy day yesterday, lots of prep in the morning (SO thankful for a helpful family!), an excellent service, fellowship back here afterwards.  A day on the futon with a book is in order.

I am Thankful For
Rain,
Central Valley Presbyterian Church,
our elder and his family,
God's grace and mercy.

I am Creating
An updated shadow box for my grandmother to put in her new room.  It's seen a few years so I'm going to see what I can do to breathe a little new life into it.

I am Reading
Psalms, and Lark Rise to Candleford.

I am Praying
For a safe drive home for our elder and his son, continued good news from our house guest, and rain - all. week. long.

I am Hearing
The hum of the computer fan, the faint swoosh of distant traffic.  (I don't often hear the traffic, but with the rain I've got the back door open.  Traffic or no, I have to smell the rain while I can.  Such a precious commodity around here!)

From the Kitchen
Green tea in about 2 minutes.  :)  Need to find a good tea shop to visit.  I'd love some good quality tea without having to order it.

Around the House
For the moment, a tired household catching up on some well-earned sleep.  I can't complain, this leaves me with a peaceful start to my day.  :)

We are Learning
Priorities,
time management,
and to stand on the covenant promises of God.

A Few of My Favorite Things
RAIN!
 My family,
temperatures below 100 in July,
a kitchen full of left-overs.

Plans for the Week
Girls to spend time with a lovely lady on Tuesday, dinner at a friends' house that evening, World Tour Wednesday, a Glaucoma Specialist appointment Thursday (oh joy), Gidget (our canine house guest - Boxer) departs, get Daisy off for a trip with her dad which means getting Shadow (our next canine house guest - German Shepherd).
Revolving dogs . . . it must be July!

On my Mind
Yesterday's sermon about Abraham and the covenant promises that stand for us today.  Amazing!

  1. "Bring On The Rain" Wish I could bottle up some of ours and send it your way.

Hope you are getting that much needed rest!
