Discipleship Deliberation

The week in general ~ Girls are humming along, boys still struggling with the take-all-day-long-for-studies thing.  The latest thing we're trying is pulling their running for football.  Every morning they run in attempt to get their stamina up for football.  When they manage their study time well, then they can have running time to manage well.  We'll see . . .

In our studies this week ~ Moved Daisy from a hard-core-but-will-never-in-a-million years logic course to studying the Fallacy Detective.  Much more applicable!

What needs some tweaking ~ Bouncing back after interruptions . . . life is always happening, you know?  But then again, that's one more benefit to home education - one can learn via real life situations.  (Isn't it sad that people call an artificially created institutional class room 'real life'?)

My own discipleship ~ Ps 20:4  Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.  Enjoying learning about Qadowsh-Iysh, and looking forward to Elder Heine's sermon tomorrow.  Being spiritually fed . . . I'm still in awe at how wonder-full it is.  One forgets!

The best thing about the week ~ Daisy working her new schedule and seeing the need for balance between being able to study in whatever order she wants and leaving math to the very last.  Learning to manage time while balancing strengths and weaknesses ~ good job, Daisy!

Questions, comments, thoughts ~ Just a lot going on this weekend.  We're going to miss Sabbath today, but will have a sweet afternoon of fellowship tomorrow.  I have another idea to add in to the boys' time issue.  Guide the week, Lord, guide the week!

Something to share ~ Football practice!

  1. I don't know how you all can do outdoor sports in the heat you have, but you have my applause!

Glad the (self) scheduling is beginning to click. Good life lesson to learn YOUNG.

  2. Oh, summer sport training is easy. Mr Perfect takes the boys! :)

  3. Hi! I don't see a link up here, but my first DD post is at :^)

  4. Duh! Thank you, Tina - working on it!

  5. I wanted so badly for my boys to play football, but no one was interested here. :( May I live through you? Looking forward to many more pics.

    Have a blessed day.
