We are not raising our children with the assumption that they're going to college for a 4 year degree.

Quite the opposite, really.  Here are a few more reasons why.


  1. oh dear. I bookmarked that one. I already agreed with you but still. Those are crazy stats.

  2. Wow! Lots to ponder. I have 3 kids in public high school (I know). The oldest, a junior, will graduate next year with an AA already under her belt- and it hasn't cost us one red cent!

    Our 3 big kids all want to go to college, but thankfully they want to do so while living at home. And they know that there will be no borrowing. I think that they understand that the so-called guarantees that supposedly come with a degree are just snake oil.

    If I could do it all over again...Well, we kind of are doing it all over again and we agree with the piece you linked to.
