Decisions Confirmed

The Caveats

Mr Perfect and I have been discussing/praying about/contemplating/number crunching about something for the last few weeks.

You know how children emulate what they see their parents doing.

The Story

Last night the boys were playing. Han Solo pulled out his box inside which he keeps the junk mail we save him, various receipts, a calculator and a pen. He sat down to 'get to work', and after 10 minutes said . . .

"Whew! I'm done my first job. Only FIVE more to go!"

Padme' relayed the story to me, I looked at Mr Perfect, and WHAM!

Decision confirmed.

Time to drop a side job.

It's sad, Mr Perfect really enjoys this particular co-worker/business - he's going to miss working with this man. And yes, of course the cut in income is going to be a challenge. But there are these daughters who need their father, sons who have already spent the first 8 years of their lives without a father, not to mention the burn out.

And yes, I miss him too . . .

Thank you, Mr Perfect, for loving us enough to come home.

  1. Oooo, that breaks my heart! What a brave and valiant decision. It's so important this time in children's lives. Why can't it be when they're gone that we need all the money??? But this is why many a pastor's child has gone astray. Feeling like everyone else is more important than the child. So important is the time with husband/daddy/father that is supercedes everything else. Bless you as you go His way this day. And always.

  2. Out of the mouths of babes!

  3. Tough decision, but a good one. Good for him!

  4. Good reminder. Our kids need parents first...

Although, it is awfully darned cute to see your little man mimicking his daddy working!
