Priorities Part 3

Is your quiet time with the Lord consistent? How’s your prayer life? What about your marriage? Are your children very well trained? Are you educating your children regularly and systematically? Is your home in order?

If you answer “no” to any of these questions, then I can not encourage you enough to think through your service to the church. Ministries have priorities, and you should not move to the next if the prior is not under control or at least being seriously worked on.

1. God
2. Husband
3. Children
4. Household

(If you are a young adult at home then I wonder if your priorities should be 1. God, 2. Parents, 3. Siblings, 4. Academic work. I’ll have to look into this biblically!)

Do you have gourmet dinners but children whose disobedience slips under the radar?

Is your house immaculate but your husband is being neglected?

Are your children well behaved but you haven’t had any personal bible study for months?

If ministry 1 is not being managed, don’t move forward to 2, 3, or 4. But once you have a grip on 1 – 4, then you can continue and consider the following . . .
